Defining Mental Health:

Understanding Key Concepts

"Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)"

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a treatment approach that combines the use of medications with counseling and behavioral therapies for individuals with substance use disorders. Specifically, for those with an opioid use disorder (OUD), MAT addresses the physical challenges experienced when discontinuing opioid use, helping to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. At Hegira Health, our MAT program offers comprehensive support to empower individuals on their journey to recovery.
