Who We Are

Hegira Health, Inc. (HHI), is a recognized leader of community-based behavioral healthcare in the western and downriver regions of Wayne County.

Since 1971, we’ve been growing and innovating to ensure the health, safety and well-being needs of our community are met. Today, HHI is one of Michigan’s largest freestanding, integrated behavioral health care organizations, providing a wide variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment services to individuals of all ages.

Our goal is to ensure the availability of quality, individualized and rapidly accessible integrated behavioral health care and prevention services to individuals and families of all income levels.

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), we are committed to ensuring that quality, individualized, rapidly accessible integrated treatment and prevention services are available to all persons regardless of severity of illness, ability to pay or residence.

Law Firm

Hegira Health, Inc. is accredited by the Joint Commission and by the American Association of Suicidology. All service locations are licensed by the State of Michigan and staffed by experienced professionals.

1971

HHI Founded

Including 12 treatment locations in Western Wayne County and the Downriver areas, with a total staff of nearly 500.

1985

CCS Founded

Offering a broader network of clinic and community-based, crisis, residential and outpatient mental health and substance abuse services for our clients and the community.

2018

Hegira Programs, Inc. becomes Hegira Health, Inc.    

The merger created Wayne County’s most comprehensive behavioral health system.

2022

HHI and CCS Merge

The merger between leading Wayne County non-profit certified community behavioral health care providers, Hegira Health, Inc. and Community Care Services, was finalized on March 20, 2022.

Our History/Timeline

This merger represents the new direction for mental health providers, one that paves the way for efficiencies and a proactive solution to the increasing demand for behavioral health services, during a period with fewer community mental health clinicians and providers.
